Please read these Terms carefully. By registering for or attending the Law & Real Estate Conference 2026, you agree to be bound by them. They form a binding contract between you and the Organiser, LREC Global SMC Ltd, convened by Baylor Global Real Estate.
1.1 The Law & Real Estate Conference 2026 (the “Conference”) is organised by LREC Global SMC Ltd and convened by Baylor Global Real Estate, in partnership with the Uganda Law Society and the Association of Real Estate Agents Uganda (AREA Uganda) (together, the “Organiser”).
1.2 These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) set out the agreement between the Organiser and any person who registers for, purchases a ticket to, or attends the Conference (the “Delegate” or “you”).
1.3 By purchasing a ticket or completing registration, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms, effectively entering into a contract with the Organiser. You should read this document carefully.
1.4 The Conference is scheduled for 3rd–4th August 2026 at the Méstil Hotel & Residences, Nsambya Hill, Kampala, Uganda (the “Venue”).
2.1 Registration is completed by submitting a duly completed registration form and paying the applicable fee. A place is confirmed only upon the Organiser’s receipt of full payment and issuance of a confirmation.
2.2 The published delegate categories and fees are:
Early Bird rates are available only until the stated closing date or until the allocation is exhausted, whichever is earlier.
2.3 Each ticket admits the named Delegate (or, for a Table of Five, the five named Delegates) to the sessions and functions covered by the category purchased. The fee covers access to the sessions indicated, conference materials, a certificate of participation, and refreshments as specified in the programme.
2.4 Tickets are issued for the Delegate’s own personal or business use and may not be re-sold or transferred for commercial gain. Where any unauthorised re-sale or other breach occurs, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel the ticket with immediate effect and refuse admission.
3.1 Fees are payable in Uganda Shillings (UGX) by the methods indicated by the Organiser, including mobile money (Airtel Money and MTN MoMo), bank transfer or deposit, or such other methods as the Organiser may make available.
3.2 All fees are stated inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise indicated. The Delegate is responsible for any bank, mobile-money, or transfer charges arising from payment.
3.3 The Organiser may request verification of payment for the purpose of confirming registration or resolving any dispute about a purchase.
4.1 Tickets are non-refundable. Fees paid are not refundable on account of a Delegate’s inability or failure to attend for any reason, including where a Delegate cannot transfer the ticket to another person in time.
4.2 A registered Delegate who is unable to attend may, with the Organiser’s prior written consent and up to a reasonable cut-off before the Conference, nominate a substitute delegate of equivalent standing at no additional charge. Substitution requests must be made in writing to the Secretariat.
4.3 Where the Delegate is entitled to a refund under clause 5 below, such refund shall be the sole remedy and shall be limited to the fee actually paid; the Organiser shall not be liable for travel, accommodation, or any other costs incurred.
5.1 The Organiser is entitled to alter the programme, speakers, sessions, format, or running order where reasonably necessary, and will endeavour to deliver a programme of equivalent quality. Speakers and sessions are subject to confirmation and may change without liability to the Organiser.
5.2 The Organiser may change the date and/or Venue of the Conference. In such a case, the Organiser will promptly notify all registered Delegates.
5.3 Where the Conference is moved to a different city or town, or its dates are changed, a Delegate who is unable to attend the rescheduled or relocated event may claim a refund of the fee paid by submitting a written request within fifteen (15) days following receipt of the notice of change.
5.4 The Organiser shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, fire, flood, epidemic or pandemic, government action or restriction, civil unrest, or failure of public infrastructure (a “Force Majeure” event). Where a Force Majeure event prevents the Conference from taking place, the Organiser may reschedule or offer a credit, in its reasonable discretion.
6.1 Admission is subject to these Terms and to the Conference Code of Conduct. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse admission to, or remove from the Venue, any person whose conduct is, in the Organiser’s reasonable opinion, unacceptable, unlawful, or in breach of the Code of Conduct or these Terms, without refund.
6.2 Delegates must comply with all reasonable instructions of the Organiser and the Venue, and with all applicable health, safety, and security requirements in force at the Venue.
6.3 Delegates are responsible for the safe-keeping of their own personal belongings. The Organiser does not accept liability for loss of or damage to personal property at the Venue, save to the extent such liability cannot be excluded by law.
7.1 All intellectual property rights in and to the Conference, its name and branding, its content, and all materials distributed at or in connection with the Conference are owned by the Organiser, its partners, sponsors, or speakers, as applicable.
7.2 You may not use, reproduce, or permit any third party to use or reproduce any trademark, trade name, logo, or other content appearing at or in connection with the Conference without the prior written permission of the Organiser. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right in or to any such intellectual property.
7.3 Recording, filming, or live-streaming of sessions by Delegates for commercial purposes is not permitted without the prior written consent of the Organiser and the relevant speaker.
8.1 The Conference will be photographed and may be filmed and recorded. By attending, you consent to your image, voice, and likeness being captured and used by the Organiser and its partners for reporting, archival, promotional, and marketing purposes, in any medium, without further notice, compensation, or approval.
8.2 If you do not wish to be individually featured, please notify the Organiser’s staff at registration, who will take reasonable steps to accommodate your request where practicable.
8.3 The Organiser will handle personal data provided during registration in accordance with applicable Ugandan data-protection law, including the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, and the Organiser’s privacy notice. Data will be used to administer your registration and to communicate with you about the Conference and related events.
9.1 The Conference and its content are provided for professional and educational purposes only and do not constitute legal, financial, valuation, tax, or investment advice. Delegates should obtain independent professional advice before acting on any information presented.
9.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organiser’s total liability arising out of or in connection with the Conference shall not exceed the fee paid by the Delegate, and the Organiser shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss.
9.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10.1 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the Organiser and the Delegate in relation to the Conference and supersede any prior understanding or representation.
10.2 If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
10.3 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda. The Organiser may amend these Terms from time to time; the version published on the official Conference channels at the time of registration shall apply.
